FunMail's Privacy Statement
We Take Steps To Protect Your Privacy
We take many precautions to protect the privacy
of FunMail users. Because we send animated email
on behalf of our users, we have access to personal
information such as email addresses. Our policy
is to respect the privacy of our users. We do not
sell, barter or exchange the email addresses you
give us when sending an email. We always tell the
recipient the sender's email address. We reserve
the right to write to our own users. We also reserve
the right to provide aggregate site and user information
to third parties: how many users, how many users
from specific Internet service providers (ISPs),
time of use, etc. (See the chart below for details
of the specific aggregate data that we may share).
We place your FunMail message in a private location
on our servers and send an announcement to the
recipient. Each FunMail message and the associated
records of email addresses are stored separately.
Limitations
Though we take steps to protect your privacy,
you should be aware that any use of the Internet
or of email creates the possibility that someone
could access the data transmitted. This is no
more likely with FunMail messages originating
from our site than it is from any email you may
send using other services.
We will not release the information that is stored
on our servers without a valid court order to
do so.
We log browser requests and part of the email
record for statistical evaluations only. We assemble
these statistics so that we can establish user
profile data. This is very important information
that allows us to improve FunMail and better meet
the needs of FunMail users.
Disclosing Information
We will NOT disclose any personally identifiable
information to any third party except as required
by law.
In order to describe our services to prospective
partners, advertisers and other third parties
we may disclose aggregate user information*. This
information is based on information we may ask
you to provide us at some time in the future.
If you provide us with demographic data in the
form of replies to user surveys, the information
may be passed on in aggregate form to our partners
and others. The aggregate data will never contain
any personal identifying information or IP addresses
or email addresses.
Our partner web sites may provide a version of
the FunMail service that is remotely hosted on
our servers. If you created your FunMail message
at one of our partner web sites, they have access
to all the data provided to them. Please be sure
to check out their privacy policy as it may be
different from ours.
"Cookies"
A cookie is computer code that a web site can
save to your browser's cookie file. The Web site
that stored the cookie (and no one else) can retrieve
this information at a subsequent visit. Cookies
are used by commercial web sites to store information
that you provide, such as settings, requests and
purchases. They are also often used for saving
user IDs and passwords of web sites with limited
access. This is how some sites remember your login
name, etc.
We use cookies to distinguish unique and repeat
visits, your name, email address, etc. We sometimes
ask for additional information from first time
visitors. If your browser allows us to store the
cookie we can read it at any subsequent visit
and determine what browser was used to access
our site. We may also use a cookie to make sure
that some advertising banners won't show up in
your browser more than once per session.
You can configure your web browser to not accept
or store cookies. This will, however, disable
FunMail and a host of other commercial sites.
Data Protection
We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic,
and managerial procedures to provide a high level
of data security on our web and data servers.
We take precautions to protect your email data
from loss, misuse or alteration and to safeguard
and secure the data you provide online. While
we strive to protect your data after it has arrived
at our servers, we cannot guarantee the security
of any information that is being transmitted over
the Internet. To further protect the security
of the information contained in your email from
hackers who may find ways to infiltrate our services,
all messages are encrypted, making the reading
of the message impossible.
Email Record
We cannot send your FunMail message unless you
provide a valid email address for sender and recipient.
This is the only information you need to provide
to send a FunMail. FunMail does not support anonymous
emails. All other personally identifiable information
in your email is optional and won't be logged.
As we do not store FunMail for an extended time,
if you have questions about a FunMail that you
have sent, please contact us immediately quoting
the unique ID URL that we sent you in the confirmation
email, at support@funmail.com. It should be understood
that FunMail cannot be stopped after you have
sent it. This process takes places automatically
and almost immediately.

If you have any questions about our privacy policy
please send us an email at privacy@funmail.com
A SPECIAL NOTE FOR PARENTS CONCERNING PRIVACY
Although FunMail is not specifically designed
for children, we realize that they will use the
service, and we encourage them to do so. We believe
that parents should supervise their children's
online activities and also consider using parental
control tools available from online services and
software manufacturers that help provide a child-friendly
online environment. These tools can sometimes
prevent children from disclosing online their
name, address, and other personal information
without parental permission. We want children
to enjoy FunMail as much as adults do, but responsible
computing is first and foremost a family matter.
We adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection
Act of 1998 and the guidelines of the Children's
Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council
of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. Parents can help
by spending time online with their children and
monitoring their online use. Please help us protect
your child's privacy by instructing them never
to provide personal information on this site or
any other without your permission.
IF YOU ARE UNDER 18, PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THIS
POLICY WITH YOUR PARENTS AND ASK QUESTIONS ABOUT
THINGS YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND. CHILDREN UNDER 13
SHOULD GET THEIR PARENT'S PERMISSION BEFORE GIVING
OUT THEIR E-MAIL ADDRESS OR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION
TO FUNMAIL OR TO ANYONE ELSE ON THE INTERNET.
LINKED SITES
FunMail, whether or not affiliated with sites
that may be linked to this site, is not responsible
for their content ("Linked Sites").
The Linked Sites are for your convenience only
and you access them at your own risk.
